What is the APL Forge?
The APL Forge is an annual competition to enhance awareness and usage of APL in the community at large. Participants can submit open-source libraries or commercial applications/tools that solve practical problems or address specific needs.

Who can participate in the APL Forge?
Individuals, groups, or companies can participate as long as they meet certain conditions – the criteria include being 16 years or older, registered for a free Basic licence for Dyalog, and not an employee, contractor, or otherwise directly associated with Dyalog Ltd.

What types of projects can be submitted?
Submissions can be applications or tools that are proprietary or permissively licensed, open-sourced or closed-sourced. They can include third-party code, images, or sounds, but all documentation and user interfaces must be available in English. The core logic must be written in a currently-supported version of Dyalog.

What are the prizes?
Prizes include £2,500 GBP, an expenses-paid opportunity to present at the next annual Dyalog user meeting, and a commercial licence valid for one year. Assistance will also be provided to help winners take their applications into production (if relevant).

What are the submission requirements?
Participants need to submit a description of the problem their code solves, how the code works, and any relevant documentation. Submissions can be made as a link to GitHub repository link or by sending a zip file through SFTP. Judges need access to the submission for evaluation.

How is participant data handled?
Only necessary data for running the competition is collected, and personal information is used in accordance with the privacy policy. Participants consent to the usage of their submitted information for the purpose of organising and/or managing the competition and its prizes.
